I never went through your post last year when divorced,but just make my son aware of all the things going on,
I told him I m separate from ur father but u can love him its OK,if u want to talk to or meet him its OK, since long he used to say he divorced you so I divorced him…

Important point is kids should b taken into confidence for everything so that they easily pass through n accept this traumatic incidence.
