This teaches children that mom and dad have their back but won’t do it for them all the time, so they begin seeing themselves in the role of someone capable to take care of their needs! I think this is a great post.

Thanks Amy! I think we, as parents, often panic! But in our efforts to help, we focus too much on the situation, rather than shifting the focus to the child.

I love play therapy, I started supervision with a play therapy supervisor, but I ended up moving in a different direction therapeutically. I still take as many play therapy-based trainings as possible! 🙂

Great post! I loved your step-by-step ideas of how to handle conflict in the school. I’ve found that many of the parents I work with (and am friends with) are baffled about how to handle this type of situation appropriately.
