As a mom to 3 girls, I am going through the same daily struggles you are... sibling rivalry, jealousy, anger, aggression, school challenges, friend drama, power struggles (and more!)
Sound familiar? Through these daily battles, my goal is to manage my own triggers, keep myself calm, and keep my relationship with them strong. Of course, even though I read, write and teach positive parenting, I’m still imperfect and some days are definitely more challenging than others!
Rather than striving for perfection, let’s embrace imperfection as part of this process.
You’re going to have amazing parenting moments. And then you’re going to have moments where you lay awake at night, filled with regret, guilt, or uncertainty. There will be times when you know exactly what to say, and times when you’re frantically Googling for answers.
That’s parenting.
It’s OK if you feel stuck.
My goal is to help you move past the feelings of “survival” parenting to parenting with calm confidence.
Never perfectly. Just taking things one step at a time. Making adjustments as needed.
Moving forward in a positive direction.
The more you learn about yourself, your children, your triggers, and the patterns in your home, the more equipped you will be to make changes.
You do not have to do this alone.
Parenting requires a community of support. And I am thrilled to be on your team!
My parenting philosophy is influenced by the work of others who encourage the use of positive/gentle/respectful parenting strategies. I strive to provide non-judgemental, shame-free support. And I’m always ready to celebrate small steps in a positive direction!
I'm Nicole Schwarz - a Parent Coach, Licensed Therapist and Author. I help stressed, overwhelmed, confused parents find calm, confidence and connection with their kids.
No one is expecting perfection here. But, if you’re willing to examine your parenting, find encouragement, or try something new, this is the place for you.
My perspective is also influenced by my background as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
I started my career in 2004 working with children and families in hospitals, homes, and private therapy practice. The majority of my therapy work focused on helping children and teens manage anxiety, anger, perfectionism, and low self-esteem.
Since that time, I’ve been privileged to work with hundreds of parents around the world, guiding them toward positive, research-backed, parenting strategies.
A Few Fun Facts
It Starts With You
My book for all imperfect parents and families
In a world swirling with parenting advice, strategies, and promises, my goal for this book is to give you permission to be an imperfect parent to your imperfect child. "It Starts With You" acts as a guide, not a rule book, helping you look at your own story, tuning into your unique child, and finding a positive, respectful rhythm to your relationship.
I believe there is more to parenting than consequences, time-outs, and spankings. This book focuses on laying a strong foundation through meaningful connections, understanding brain development, embracing big feelings, and working through conflict together.
There is no judgment here. You do not have to have it all figured out, and you do not have to do anything perfectly to be a great parent. Learning and growing is a process, one with highs and lows, but always filled with compassion and grace, for yourself and for your kids.
